Bell Tower Project

Help us “Top the Tower!” Saint Paul’s is getting close to concluding its campaign to raise funds to restore its historic bell tower and complete other crucial repairs to the church. But we’re not there yet!

Past capital improvement projects at St. Paul’s have included refurbishing its historic organ and repairing and restoring its slate roof and portions of the church’s interior at a cost of more than $200,000. These projects were self-funded by St. Paul’s small and dedicated congregation through careful stewardship of church funds.

The newest project—repairing, repointing, and waterproofing its stone bell tower as well as stabilizing the church’s walls at a cost of more than $210,000—is crucial to halt deterioration that would result in long-term structural consequences for the building.

St. Paul’s thanks its neighbors, the community, other organizations, as well as members of its parish, for contributions totaling more than $170,000 so far that are helping us to complete this important work to our historic building so that the church can continue to provide its beautiful, traditional liturgy to parishioners and visitors, make vital ecumenical contributions to the community, and remain a strong visual anchor and link to Salem’s past on East Broadway. But we have a little bit farther to go.

If you care to make a donation, please send a check payable to St. Paul’s Tower Fund to PO Box 484, Salem, NY 12865 or make an online contribution. Contributions are tax-deductible.
